Overview

IPv6 is the new version of the internet protocol that is slowly becoming the new standard

Ranges

Here are some of the IPv6 ranges and their purpose

Tunnel Brokers

Tunnel brokers are ISPs or a group of ISPs that provide a free IPv6-over-IPv4 tunnel allowing you to access IPv6 sites even if your local ISP doesn't support IPv6 yet. Both of these are reliable and offer the same level of performance. Keep in mind that since everything is going through a tunnel there is extra latency with IPv6 connections that you wouldn't get if you had a true IPv6 connection.

Security

Since IPv6 gives all computers globally routable ip addresses. This eliminates NAT, including all the security benefits it provides. Easiest way to keep your computer safe is to enable the firewall that comes with your OS. The latest versions of all operating systems support IPv6.
